DUT Ritson Campus
DUT Ritson Campus forms part of Durban’s long history of technical and higher education. As a campus of Durban University of Technology, it reflects the development of tertiary education in the city over more than a century.
The university was created in 2002 through the merger of Technikon Natal and ML Sultan Technikon, before adopting the name Durban University of Technology in 2007. Today, students from across South Africa continue to study at the institution in a wide range of academic and technical fields.
The history connected to Ritson Campus dates back to the establishment of Natal Technical College in 1907. Institutions that later became part of DUT contributed significantly to technical training and access to education during periods of major social and political change in South Africa, including the apartheid era.
Today, the campus remains an active educational centre within Durban, continuing its role in teaching, research, and skills development.

DUT Ritson Campus is one of the main campuses of the Durban University of Technology and plays an important role in delivering technical and vocational higher education in Durban.
